Gala is a variety originated in New Zealand. This apple quickly gained in popularity throughout the world and in the last ten years has also been cultivated in Trentino.
Colour: orangey red, slightly striped. The fruit is especially shiny when cultivated in hilly areas.
Special features: “smooth and waxy”, thanks to the natural formation of wax on the skin; rather pleasant to the touch.
Shape: tendentially rounded, slightly elongated and middle sized.
Flesh: yellowish-white; according to ripeness, from crunchy and juicy to tender and velvety.
Taste: always very sweet and pleasant.
Harvested: August - September
Shelf life: from September to May.
Suggestions: suitable for everyone, especially liked by children, excellent pressed fresh.
