Cooperativa Castanicoltori del Trentino Alto Adige, a cooperative agricultural company, was founded about fifteen years ago and includes about seventy members.
It is one of the focal points for the regional growing of chestnuts, provides information on products, directly and indirectly promotes the marketing of fresh chestnuts, and processes a portion of the harvest, transforming it into: chestnut creams, candied chestnuts in syrup and flavoured syrup with Trentino grappa, and chestnut beer; these products are sold in the regional specialty grocery stores. The Company also produces and markets new nursery plants of “Trentino chestnut tree”; it promotes training, educational and experimental activities.
