The ONAV (Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori di Vino) was born in Asti in 1951, by an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of Asti and the will of eminent personalities of the wine world over time.
The reasons for its birth must be sought in the need of making available a body of reliable tasters who were specifically prepared and tested to perform the delicate and challenging function of wine tasting.
Testers are required a complex of natural skills, specific technical knowledge and training, to be used whenever a wine must be evaluated in a comprehensive and significant way.
