AGRITUR EL MAS
Here, “zero kilometre” becomes “zero metre”. Because at Agritur El Mas, the entire food chain is not simply told: you can see it, discover it and, most importantly, taste it.
Here, “zero kilometre” becomes “zero metre”. Because at Agritur El Mas, the entire food chain is not simply told: you can see it, discover it and, most importantly, taste it.
On the slopes overlooking Moena, the Fairy of the Dolomites, Agritur El Mas is a mountain farmhouse where rural life meets hospitality, cuisine and a deep passion for the local area. Everything starts with the land and the animals and eventually reaches the table, following a short, authentic chain deeply rooted in the traditions of Val di Fassa.
At the heart of this story is the Croce family, with Michelangelo, the host and driving force behind the farm, welcoming guests together with his trusted team. Hospitality here has the warmth of a family home, combined with curiosity and a constant desire to innovate.
The same atmosphere can be found in the farmhouse’s guest rooms, designed for those who wish to stay a few days and embrace the slower rhythm of mountain life. Warm and thoughtfully designed spaces, where wood and Alpine-inspired details meet modern comfort, allowing the story of the local area to continue even after closing the door to your room.
The heart of the farm is the stable, home to Grey Alpine cattle, the protagonists of a dairy production chain that visitors can discover step by step. Their milk is transformed into the cheeses produced at Agritur El Mas, which are available alongside other local specialities at the farm shop, El Cajelo.
This is what makes El Mas special: you can move from the stable to the dairy, from the kitchen to the farm shop and from the table to the meadow, discovering how the food you eat is made.
At the table, tradition meets research. Stefano Croce, Michelangelo's son and the farm's chef, has taken his vision of locally rooted cuisine to the highest level, earning a MICHELIN Green Star, awarded for a restaurant's commitment to sustainability. His cooking starts with local ingredients, products from the farm and the culinary heritage of the Dolomites, reinterpreting them with a contemporary approach.
Next to the kitchen, the El Cajelo farm shop continues the story of the farm through cheeses, cured meats and other local specialities. A place where shopping becomes a way of taking home a little piece of Val di Fassa.
But El Mas is also a place to stay and slow down. Days unfold among hospitality, good food, nature and animals, with opportunities to discover the farm through the experiences offered throughout the year.
And then there is Ota, the family's gentle Saint Bernard, who seems to know better than anyone else the true art of doing absolutely nothing.
At Agritur El Mas, everything can be summed up in three words: taste, rest, discover. Three different ways to experience the life of the farm and discover a mountain landscape made not only of spectacular scenery, but also of people, animals, work, flavours and traditions.
A real mountain farm, a real family, a cuisine that looks to the future without forgetting its roots. Here, zero kilometre truly becomes “zero metre”: from land to table, everything is closer.
